Course Description
Do you know the common mistakes that trigger payroll audits? While agencies might claim your selection was “random,” the reality is one or more red flags likely made you a target.
-
- If your company is publicly traded, you must comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which requires sufficient internal controls over payroll systems that affect financial statements.
- For private companies, conducting internal audits is critical to maintaining long-term compliance and preventing issues that could threaten your company’s stability.
Have you faced a payroll audit from various agencies? Proper preparation requires more than just keeping records; it involves understanding what to do and what to avoid to ensure a smooth, quick audit with positive results.
“Penalties for non-compliance can be steep, with some increasing the longer issues go unresolved.”
However, all penalties can potentially be waived if you know the correct way to address them. Since payroll tax audits typically cover a three-year span, more serious compliance violations can lead to bankruptcy or prolonged legal battles.
In this 4-hour seminar, you will learn:
-
- The most common mistakes employers make that trigger audits.
- How to ensure internal controls are audit-ready.
- Strategies to avoid costly penalties and resolve compliance issues quickly.
- Steps for preparing your payroll records and documentation for any audit.
